Species from the C. cervicornis group, with a primary thallus composed of rather small squamules, green to green-brown upper surface and conspicuously white below; the basal part of the lower surface often darkens, up to about one third of the squamule length. Podetia are slender, simple, lacking a melanotic base, and bear very narrow, regular cups 1–3 mm wide. A very similar species is C. cervicornis, from which it differs mainly in the less developed primary thallus with a white lower surface and by narrower cups that expand abruptly. It differs from C. pulvinata by the absence of psoromic acid, and from C. verticillata by its narrow cups and smaller primary thallus.
Cladonia teuvoana grows in heathlands and on sandy habitats. The species is currently reported from several European countries, including the Czech Republic, where it is so far known only from a heathland in the Motolský ordovik Nature Monument (Prague). The lichen was described only in 2024, so additional localities will probably be discovered soon.
