Rinodina trevisanii has a brown-grey thallus with lecanorine apothecia. It is distinguished from the similar R. orculata by larger spores. It grows on bark and wood of various trees, tolerating also acidic substrates (e.g., birch and conifers). It is rare in Europe, distributed mainly in montane (the Alps) and northern areas (Scandinavia). In the Czech Republic, it is only known from sycamore bark from a couple of localities in the Beskydy and Šumava Mts.
