Allantoparmelia alpicola (Th. Fr.) Essl.

This rare mountain lichen can be seen in the Czech Republic only in the Krkonoše Mts. It grows there above the upper timberline, on rocks or rocky outcrops, for example, on Mt Sněžka, Mt Vysoké kolo and Mt Malý Šišák. It is a psychrophilic species of siliceous rocks with circumpolar, arctic-alpine distribution.
