Bacidina omnicola Vondrák, Palice & Malíček

This lichen most commonly occurs in a sterile state. It is characterized by small, mostly punctiform soralia with very fine soredia. The pale apothecia lack pigments and produce asci with ascospores measuring 18–33 × 1–2.5 μm, containing none to three septa. Distinguishing this species from several other members of the genus is difficult, and identification of sterile material remains uncertain. It grows on stones as well as on tree bark (usually near the base of trunks), most often in forests of low to mid elevations. It is probably a rather common species, but so far known only from the Czech Republic, from where it was recently described (Vondrák et al. 2024).
