An epiphytic lichen, very similar to more common species Biatoridium monasteriense, from which is differs in missing or poorly developed thallus. Ecologically, both species are very similar. A single record from the Czech Republic was published from a bark of Acer platanoides at the locality Jilmová skála in the Šumava Mountains. Its distribution is poorly known and it is probably a rare lichen.
