A pair of very similar and closely related species – C. arbuscula and C. mitis. According to molecular data, C. arbuscula is genetically heterogeneous and probably consists of several cryptic species. C. mitis forms a monophyletic lineage within C. arbuscula (Ahti & Stenroos 2013, Stenroos 2019). Due to good differentiation and stability of morphological and chemical characters, the two species are considered separate in European conditions. However, in some publications, both older and recent, the species are not distinguished and are reported as C. arbuscula.
