Lempholemma polyanthes (Bernh.) Malme

Usually fertile, weak competitor species with a thin thallus that is lobate at its edges. It grows on bared calcareous soil, bryophytes and humus layers in rock crevices. Dry grasslands and rock surroundings are its typical habitats. The lichen occurs sparsely both in Europe and the Czech Republic, a bit more common it is only in karst regions. The species may be overlooked (typically in communities of the similar Nostoc cyanobacteria) and its presence is often ephemeral.
