Morphologically and ecologically relatively well-defined group of species with coarsely granular, delimited thallus and a prominent preference for exposed habitats (exposed to rain and direct sunlight). Group members occurring in the Czech Republic are: L. aplina, L. borealis, L. caesioalba, L. granulata and L. neglecta s. str. The species are identified according to their secondary metabolites, therefore a thin layer chromatography (TLC) or spot reactions are necessary.
