Montanelia sorediata (Ach.) Divakar, A. Crespo, Wedin & Essl.

A saxicolous Montanelia, very similar to M. disjuncta, from which it differs in soralia at the end of secondary lobes, the absence of pseudocyphellae and matt thallus. The lichen prefers more or less exposed surfaces of siliceous or volcanic rocks and stones. It is a circumboreal species, occurring typically in colder European regions. Its records from the Czech Republic need to be revised, since the species was not distinguished from similar M. disjuncta in the past. However, recent findings show that M. sorediata occurs in suitable habitats sparsely across the entire country from uplands to mountains.
