Multiclavula corynoides (Peck) R.H. Petersen

The fruiting bodies of this lichen are yellowish, straw-coloured to pinkish, sometimes turning orange (e.g. in herbarium specimens). They are often compressed, with blunt to fairly acute apices, and range from simple to slightly branched. The thallus, as in other members of the genus, is gelatinous to ±granular. Multiclavula corynoides is the type species of the genus.

It grows on bare (often sandy) soil, usually in association with bryophytes, and occasionally also on peat. It may be found in moist road cuts, sand pits, or peat bogs. This is a boreally distributed Holarctic species that occurs mainly in Fennoscandia and the Alps in Europe. From the Czech Republic, there is so far only a single record, from a sand pit near Pamferova huť close to Železná Ruda in the Šumava Mountains, where it was collected in 2006.
