A complex of tiny pioneer Peltigera species, P. didactyla and P. extenuata, which are morphologically practically undistinguishable. They differ in chemistry of soralia and medulla – in P. extenuata, these parts turn C+ red thanks to the presence of derivatives of gyrophoric acid.
