Peltigera neckeri Hepp ex Müll. Arg.

This species is characterized by a combination of several features – the grey to bluish smooth thallus, often pruinose lobe margins, dark fasciculate rhizines and dark apothecia. Its ecological preferences are not delimited too strictly. The lichen often occurs in dry grasslands or on mossy rocks from lowlands to the highest mountains on both, acidic and basic substrates. It may be found also at tree bases in forests. Peltigera neckeri is widespread in the northern hemisphere from temperate to the arctic zone. In the Czech Republic, it occurs rarely. Even the historical data about its distribution in the country are missing since the species was not distinguished from P. polydactylon in the past.
