Porpidia pachythallina Fryday

A lichen similar to the common species P. tuberculosa, with which it also shares the presence of confluentic acid, but differing in having a thicker, whitish, areolate thallus with a non-amyloid medulla (I–), and in having non-pruinose apothecia with a well-developed exciple. The species was described relatively recently from flat siliceous rocks in the Scottish Highlands (Fryday 2005) and was later reported also from Russia (Urbanavichus & Urbanavichene 2018). In the Czech Republic, it has so far been found only on the sandstones near Hradčany (an uncertain record) and in the Krkonoše Mountains: on mica schist on the Kozí hřbety ridge (a typical specimen) and on Studniční hora Mt (a fertile, non-sorediate thallus).
