Sarcosagium campestre (Fr.) Poetsch & Schied.

Sarcosagium campestre is an ephemeral pioneer lichen with an unclear degree of lichenization. It often grows together with slimy covers of non-lichenized green algae. The species colonizes organic (shaded bark, wood, thalli of macrolichens or bryophytes) and inorganic substrates (sandy soil, rocks). It can be found on diverse stands – from anthropogenic (sludge ponds by power stations) to autochthonous ecosystems, such as old-growth forests. It is scattered in the Czech Republic.
