Lepraria with an oceanic distribution, rare in central Europe. In western Europe, the species occurs from lowlands to mountains, typically on acidic rocks or bryophytes in rain-protected places. In the Czech Republic, there is a single, so far unpublished record from beech bark in the western part of the Šumava Mts. With a regard to the unusual ecology, the finding is awaiting a confirmation by a specialist.
