A saxicolous Protoparmeliopsis associated with exposed siliceous rocks, including various types of calcareous silicates. It occurs on natural rock outcrops in the warmest areas of the Czech Republic (thermophyticum). It may also be found at middle elevations, mainly in warmer mesophyticum areas, but is much rarer there. Its Czech centre of distribution lies in central Bohemia and southern Moravia.
