Ropalospora viridis (Tønsberg) Tønsberg

Always sterile sorediate species, associated with smooth beech bark in beech forests, including managed forests, in the Czech Republic. It tolerates shading but not eutrophication. Ropalospora viridis is abundant in submontane and montane forests. It is distributed all over Europe, except for the southern parts. For a reliable distinction from similar species, such as Fuscidea pusilla, secondary metabolite analysis is necessary.
