A problematic species with respect to its taxonomic status. It has a minute, wrinkled, often isidiate thallus, with a well-developed cortex. It grows on calcareous rocky substrates, including walls, sometimes also on soil. Its distribution is little known. In the Czech Republic, it has been published from karst areas.
