A problematic species with respect to its taxonomic status. It has a minute, wrinkled, often isidiate thallus, with a well-developed cortex. It grows on calcareous rocky substrates, including walls, sometimes also on soil. Its distribution is little known. In the Czech Republic, it has been published from karst areas.taxonomic classification:
