Verrucaria tenuispora Vondrák & Thüs

A lichen macroscopically similar to V. nigrescens, from which it differs in the absence of a black lower layer of the thallus and in its characteristically narrow ascospores. The species was recently described from andesite rocks and stones along the Berounka River in the Týřov National Nature Reserve, Křivoklát region (Vondrák et al. 2022). Since then, it has been collected at several additional localities in the České středohoří Highlands, the Middle Vltava region, and in Prague. It always occurs on volcanic rocks. Verrucaria tenuispora apparently may also produce somewhat broader spores than reported in the original description.
