Xanthoria papillifera (Vain.) Poelt

Conspicuous yellow-orange Xanthoria, thallus with finger-like outgrowths or lobules in the central part. Usually sterile in the Czech Republic. Typically, it covers large areas on tops of exposed limestone rocks and is thus dominant in lichen communities. Its center of distribution lies in the continental steppes of Eurasia. Historically not recorded in the Czech Republic, but after year 2000 repeatedly collected in the Pálava region, where it is locally abundant.
