Lecanora argopholis (Ach.) Ach.

A saxicolous Lecanora species, which favours growing on alkaline igneous rocks, but also on granite or other silicates, however mostly in places that are at least slightly enriched with calcium. It prefers natural sunny rocky outcrops. Lecanora argopholis is a widespread species of the northern hemisphere, but comparatively infrequent in Central Europe. In the Czech Republic, it is distributed only in the warmest areas of the country. Most findings come from the surroundings of Prague, the České středohoří Hills and a wider surroundings of Brno.
