Scytinium palmatum is quite easily recognizable due to enrolled to tubular lobes with pointy margins. It is a suboceanic species, primary terricolous, growing on soil or even on bryophytes in open stands. Rarely, it also colonizes bryophyte-covered trunks and wood. Its occurrence in the Czech Republic is not clear and the historical data (Mann 1825, Servít 1930 as Obryzum corniculatum) require revision.
