A rarely collected ephemeral species, known only from few localities in the Czech Republic. Usually found on small rather shaded acidic (gneiss, silicates with iron) and also basic (basic sandstone/marlstone) stones. Recorded on natural, seminatural and anthropogenic substrates at lower elevatoins (Prague), middle (Liberec, Sedlčany and Sokolov regions) and mountain (Krkonoše Mts) areas.
